I lived in Fort Collins for nearly 20 years. While it was no Boulder regarding amazing public lands close to town, there were some nice areas that aren't too far away including Horsetooth Mountain Park, Lory State Park, Gray Rock Mountain, Rotary Park, Devils Backbone Open Space, Coyote Ridge Open Space, etc.
