We'd been out a month earlier to Eye of the Whale Arch but the weather was poor and we were crunched for time so we didn't really get to explore.

So we came back to devote the whole day to it over Thanksgiving break. At Eye of the Whale Arch we ran into some locals who knew their way around a bit. The let us tag along and they showed us a route up and onto the top of Herdina Park and out onto an exposed ledge with a view of Leaping Arch. From there we all agreed to strike out northwest across a wash to another rock formation.

It was an excellent hike and we all want to go back and explore more. We could easily spend another day staying in Herdina Park proper to explore the canyons an nooks and crannies.
