Trip Report [hide]
Scott Patterson, Fabio Somenzi, and I climbed Lone Eagle Peak (located in Indian Peaks Wilderness) via "Solo Flight" Route on September 24, 2005.
Lone Eagle Peak doesn't look like much when you look down on it from the higher summits to the east like Apache, Shoshoni, and Pawnee. In fact, Lone Eagle Peak is merely the far north end of Iroquois Peak's (Point 12,799) North Ridge. However, when viewed from the north near Crater Lake or Mirror Lake Lone Eagle Peak is certainly one of the most stunning summits in the state.
